I am just snuggled up in bed after another night shift, but desperately want to share these pics before I sleep, two of my favourite flowers, both of which appear as if by magic this time of year - I only wish I was responsible but sadly I play no part in their beauty.
I have no idea what this is (I am sure someone a little more horticulturaly minded would know exactly what it is called), but it returns to greet spring with me every April. Isn't it lovely? I always worry that it won't come, then squeal with delight as I am pegging out washing and see it peeking out at me.
And my sweet bluebells. Along with velvety pink roses, bluebells are my favourite. I adore the colour of them, the smell of them the way their heads nod hello to me as I pass. I like to smell of bluebells most of the time (when I am not smelling of Figs) courtesy of Penhaligons. I actually wish I had named Ivy, Ivy Bluebell, doesn't that sound sweet. I wonder if she would mind changing?
One last little thing which I would like to share, mostly because I want to use this blog as some sort of a diary to record things which I am afraid I may forget, is one of Ivy's little rituals.
Everyday when she goes to school she leaves one or two of her little friends, seated comfortably, awaiting her return from school. Funny thing is I never catch her doing it, but only find them once I have returned from the school run. On the occasions where I have tidied them or just repositioned them, she acknowledges this with a little pursed lip glance in my direction and I know she has noticed, She would never say anything, she is not the sort and for that I love her.
Right, I am clearly tired and sentimental and need some sleep before I pick the babies up from school. Nightie Night x
Can I be the smarty pants who tells you the plant is Soloman's Seal properly known as Polygonatum. Its a delight the way it shoots out of the ground each spring, just what we need at this time of year.

Hi there. I have just found your blog and I can't quite believe you only started it in February - you're a natural! So much so I have added you to my favourites list on my very new blog after only reading two posts!

My son does the same with his teddy. Pops him back in bed under the duvet, goes Mad though if I move him. Doesn't have the good grace just to purse lips! x

Get thee some rest. My rule - no computer after a night shift or I'll miss out on much needed sleep!
