Here it is, at last!
Six months of delicious work, and lots of lovely Rowan Wool/Cotton, I am soooooo proud!
Many of you have been so encouraging and enquiring about this project and it has taken me almost two weeks to take and post these pictures.
This is my first attempt at crochet, you may remember that I am self taught, from this book. In addition to this I have also scrutinised other blogs to extend my knowledge and skills, and while I still have a way to go, I am rather pleased with my blanket.
I have affectionately nick named this my "Bauer Blankie", as I hooked away happily whilst watching the first six seasons of 24. This was of course accompanied with a "Dexter" edge! I am now enjoying Season 3 (Dexter) whilst snuggled under it, with Season 7 (24) on it's way this week, what a way to spend these cool October nights.
As I tidied my blanket up for these pics I noticed it is already smeared with chocolate (I am blaming the babies!) but then bunny cuddling and tea drinking is just what it is meant for!
Congratulations!! It looks beautiful!!! I'm thinking of a pattern to follow to make a nice knitted blanket as I don't know how to crochet...

The blanket looks so pretty with your calm decor. I just put the book on my wishlist, I really do want to learn to crochet though I doubt my first project will be as ambitious as yours.

What a fantastic blanket. I taught someone to make granny squares yesterday so will be sending her a link to your blog for additional inspiration! Am glad I'm not the only one who plans crafting around DVD/TV watching. I like to watch the Wire whilst knitting at the moment.

Hello! I just hopped over here from Angry Chicken and as your crochet blanket was the first thing I saw you've won me over straight off the bat. A long time knitter I taught myself to crochet a while back, inspired by a 'granny blanket' made by my great-grandma. The original blanket has been joined by my own efforts, but is still in use and great condition, so rest assured that all your hard work will give you (and your descendants) many years of snuggling!

Congratulations! Your blanket is GORGEOUS! You deserve to be tremendously proud of yourself, well done, it's Fab Lucy. I've just been cooing over Biba asleep amongst the yarn in your next post, so sweeeeet!
