The Children love Book Character day. This morning I spotted, Snape, Red Riding Hood, Pippi Longstocking, The Invisible Man, The Cat in the Hat and many others. I couldn't resist when I saw this pink and white candy stripe cotton jersey in the fabric shop. The pattern is a Simplicity nightie, and it is such soft jersey that we intend to recycle this costume as a nightie - probably tonight. I will happily reassure myself that if you can guess Ivy's costume, then my sewing skills MUST be improving!
I have a horrible feeling I might be showing my age with this guess...
Milly Molly Mandy?
Do children still read those books?

This definitely have been my choice for Book Day if it had existed when I was a little person. The M.M.M. books are such a delight and something you never do grow out of. I still like curling up in an arm chair every so often and stealing a few minutes with a little story. If only life was really like that! x

I love it! Reminds me of Dr Seuss' - The Cat In The Hat and Horton Hears A Who!!

I live with a little girl named after that just that MMM as it was my favourite book as a child. I think it was the map of the village that fascinated me the most. We've even got a dolly dressed just the same, so you look spot on to me.
Sadly for my girls their school haven't done dress up today. Less stress for me as they change their minds almost daily as I've just sorted each costume out. Not such a fun day for them though. Hope yours have fun.

Never read the books but I recognize the character. What a beautiful girl your Ivy is!
